'Hardwood Tides' is the pseudonym I use, my name is Josh Marks and I am an artist specialising in resin and woodwork based in Caloundra, Australia. Raised amidst the sun, surf, and vibrant culture of Queensland's Sunshine Coast, my artistic journey began early and evolved through formal education, culminating in a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design in 2003.I then gained over 17 years of design and manufacture experience in the signage industry as a Graphic Designer, Sign Writer and Project Manager. My passion for woodworking emerged initially as a hobby and creative outlet, eventually leading to the establishment of Hardwood Tides in 2016. Since 2021, Hardwood Tides has successfully grown to become my full time occupation.My crafts are distinctive surf, skate and sculptural art pieces that harmonise my woodworking expertise with resin and timber, capturing and reflecting nature’s beauty while celebrating surf culture.
